Combining dark or bittersweet chocolate and tahini (sesame seed paste) will give you incredibly delicious chocolate truffles with optional mix-in ingredients like nuts, seeds, or dried fruits. This satisfies those chocolate cravings without all the added sugar of typical desserts.
Some of my friends like to visit me because they know I always have a freezer full of sweet treats, but others don’t, for that exact same reason.
But not everything I make is loaded with butter and sugar, and these fudgy chocolate squares are proof.
They are made with only 2 ingredients – dark chocolate and tahini, and I know what you’re thinking – tahini? Doesn’t sound great.
But you’re wrong. It’s DELICIOUS.
And you can barely taste the tahini in there. It’s a perfect healthy treat for a chocolate craving, and did I mention it takes less than 5 minutes to make?
How to make healthy chocolate truffles with tahini
This recipe is ridiculously easy, so I can’t wait for you to try it! There’s no baking involved and it’s extremely allergy-friendly.
All you need to do is chop a few bars of chocolate and heat them gently in the microwave. Stir melted chocolate and tahini together. Transfer mixture to a parchment-lined pan and let them chill. That’s it!
Customize the flavor and shape
You can add your favorite nuts or dried fruits to the mixture for added natural sweetness or flaky sea salt for a flavorful bite. I love to add peanuts or pistachios although there is a nutty flavor from the sesame seeds in tahini.
This quick dessert can also be made vegan by making sure you’re using vegan chocolate bars.
For round truffles instead of squares, refrigerate the mixture, then roll into balls. This mixture yields 30-40 balls, depending on the size you want.

Storing and Serving
Keep these truffles refrigerated in an airtight container until serving. They do start to melt at room temperature. Eat within three days for best results. I haven’t tried freezing them, so I’m not sure how that would turn out. If you try, let me know in the comments below.
